Actress Payal Rohatgi jailed till 24, police presented in ACJM court

Bundi: Bigg Boss fame and film actress Payal Rohatgi were sent to judicial custody till December 24 for posting objectionable videos against women of the Gandhi-Nehru family on social media. Payal was produced in the ACJM court on Monday. Payal's bail application will now be presented on Tuesday. Bundi police arrived here in the morning, taking Payal into custody from Ahmedabad. The court will decide whether Payal will get bail or go to jail. Jailor Lok Ujjwal Singh of District Jail says that if Payal is sent to jail, he will be kept as a normal prisoner.

Payal's advocate Bhupendra Sahay Saxena had on Thursday approached Payal's anticipatory bail in the DJ court. The court on Friday ordered the police to present the case diary. If the case diary was not presented on Friday, then on Monday, the date of hearing on anticipatory bail was given. Meanwhile, the police took Payal into custody. Payal has appeared in some films, TV serials and Bigg Boss. Payal's fiance Wrestler Sangram Singh is in constant touch with advocate Saxena in Bundi. They had come to Bundi on Sunday evening, but they refused to speak about it.

So Payal in trouble: On September 21, Payal uploaded a video on social media, making indecent comments on Motilal Nehru's wife Rupi Nehru, former PM Jawaharlal Nehru's wife Kamla Nehru and Indira Gandhi. Earlier, Mumbai Police had blocked Payal's account on such activities. On 2 October, the State Congress General Secretary of Youth Congress Charmesh Sharma had given a complaint against him at Sadar police station. On October 10, the police registered a case against Payal in the 504,505 (2) 67 IT Act. Charmesh Sharma has also previously filed a case against Subramanian Swamy for making objectionable remarks against Rahul Gandhi.

Payal only informed about the arrest

Payal first reported on Twitter that the Rajasthan police arrested Motilal Nehru in connection with making a video. This video was made on the information I received from Google. Freedom of expression has become a joke…. Payal also tagged his tweet to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Prime Minister's Office.

• November 29 was the last date, but the answer did not come. The mail was then asked to submit a reply by 5 December.
• December 5 - If the answer was not received, the police gave the date of December 11. Meanwhile another video of Payal surfaced in which he apologized to Sonia, Priyanka Gandhi and pressured the Chief Minister to take action against him - he claimed to have a recording of such conversations with Rajasthan Police officials.
• December 11 - Payal Rohatgi did not respond to the police notice again. Another video surfaced in which Payal tweeted Congress President Sonia Gandhi and requested to save Charmesh Sharma, who lodged an FIR, that now I have publicly apologized to you. I am not a criminal, an ordinary Indian citizen. Who does not have blackmoney to pay court fees and lawyers.
• Dec 12 - Payal's advocate files anticipatory bail in DJ court. The hearing was not held on Friday, the court fixed December 16 as the date.
• On December 15 - Payal took police from his home in Ahmedabad to Custody and left for Bundi.
